How Training Works
Theory
The theoretical preparation varies depending on the course chosen but follows a consistent approach. Each course is divided into in-person and remote learning phases. The preparation includes classroom sessions, self-study, online seminars, problem-solving exercises, and work on the yacht simulator. All materials for recreational courses are taught in English/Russian, while commercial modules are delivered in English.
Practical Training
Practical training on sailing and motor yachts is conducted in several training waters located in Slovenia (Portorož) and Turkey (Marmaris, Fethiye). The location for practical training depends on the course, module, and instructor availability.
Licensing
Our school awards both recreational and commercial qualifications and issues licenses across three training programs: the Canadian IYT (International Yacht Training); the Dutch IYMCS (International Yacht Marine Certification Society); and Secharter's advanced certification programs in catamaran handling, night navigation, and challenging weather condition
